Watch out folks! Another good flick from Aditya’s camp. It looks like a typically bollyood Film, it will crush on the Box Office but never be as successful as Om Shanti Om! Anycase I like SRK’s acting in this movie. This movies gonna be hilarious. My friend and I are going to see it next wednesday at a theater near here.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi : - Yash Raj Films

Here’s the story : -
SHAHRUKH is married to ANUSHKA but there is a huge age gap between them. There is no real romance in the marriage. Then, a dance reality show called “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” airs and ANUSHKA wants to participate but can’t because her husband is not hip and happening, she has a fear of losing and she also fears that her friends will laugh at her. SHAHRUKH overhears this problem and decides to go in for a makeover. He watches some movies and learns to dance in order to woo his young wife. Throughout the show ANUSHKA keeps falling in love to with this ‘new and improved’ SHAHRUKH KHAN without once realizing that he’s her husband. In the end, a justified title “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi”
Review : -
Rab Ne has been definitely amongst the most awaited films of 2008 and there have been great expectations riding on it especially because it is Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge maker Aditya Chopra’s comeback film after a long gap of 8 years. The script has its moments and master craftsman Adi keeps you engaged initially with some really beautifully handled moments between SRK and Anushka. But as SRK’s character’s transformation comes in the grip slowly loosens and you start feeling restless with the pace slumping down considerably. What follows is a criss-cross between some really well penned and executed scenes and some really drab moments with badly placed songs acting as speed breakers. But Adi’s terrific dialogues deserve a special applause for touching the right chords.
Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai - Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
Shah Rukh Khan is simply superb as first the shy Suri and then the flamboyant, full of energy, Raj. Newcomer Anushka gets a really well etched character to perform and it despite being her first film, she comes across an absolute natural. Vinay Pathak is fun and provides good comic relief.
The movie starts in Golden temple, with the blessings of the Rab (Lord) and then the hero Surinder Sahni (Shah Rukh Khan), an aam aadmi bringing his newly wed wife Tani in Amritsar Railway station. It is really interesting to see an aam movie without much bollywood usual stuff till a long time in the movie. Shah Rukh Khan seems to be perfectly fit for his role of aam aadmi.
Dance Pe Chance - - Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
Then as a flash is shown how Surinder marries Tani. In her wedding due to some accident the Baaraat does not come. Tani’s father collapses after a heart-attack. He then asks both Surinder and Tani for the marriage and he dies. They both marry and hence the story in Amritsar.
At Amritsar where Surinder lives their life begins in two storey. Tani in ground floor and Surinder in first floor which is Surinder’s choice to leave Tani to live as per her choice.
Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte - Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
Surinder is then seen as changing his attire and attitude for his wife, for her to love him. Tani is obsessed with dancing and Surinder changes himself as Raaj Kapoor and he becomes Tani’s dance partner for a show. Surinder as Raaj impresses Tani a lot, and finally Raaj confesses his love to Tani. Only at this point that Tani reveals that she is married women. Instead of revealing himself as Surinder, Raaj instead insists Tani leave Surinder. Tani at first agrees and later on before the final dance show (at climax) refuses to go with Raaj. Then Surinder ditches Raaj and dances with Tani for winning the dance show. Here ends the movie.
By simply narrating the story no-one can get the impression of the tight love between on-screen couple Surinder/Raaj and Tani. It has been simply narrated and rightly revealed. But only thing that comes as a negative point will be the style of living in 2000’s the way they used to live in 1990’s. Surinder could have been a little more maked up for the new age rather than telling the story of 1990’s.
As with the case with Om Shanti Om, in this movie guest appearances by Kajol, Bipasha, Preity Zinta, Lara Dutta, Rani Mukerjee in the song Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke least impresses.
The background music is a plus, and the innocent love story is the real hero of this movie. Haule Haule tune seems to be pretty much interested and it appears almost everywhere in the movie, especially where Surinder is in romantic mood. The song Haule Haule and its filming is really wonderful. Thank God no America/Australia or any overseas location for the song. The simplicity of the song attracts very much. Salim-Sulaiman combination hits the right chord for Haule Haule. Rest of the songs are forgettable.
Anushka Sharma Interview - Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
But expect lots and lots of fantasies. Afterall it is cinematic to have a husband with moustache and glass fouls her wife with a more young look dance-partner.
Good family entertainer. Worth watching atleast one time.
