Phoenix Provides a Panorama of Mars
Combining more than 400 images taken during the first weeks after the Phoenix arrived on the Red planet’s arctic plain gave scientists this view of Mars.
The full-circle panorama in approximately true color shows the polygonal patterning of ground at the landing area, similar to patterns in permafrost areas on Earth. The center of the image is the westward part of the scene. Trenches where Phoenix’s robotic arm has been exposing subsurface material are visible in the right half of the image. The spacecraft’s meteorology mast, topped by the telltale wind gauge, extends into the sky portion of the panorama. Read more on it at NASA Gallery

I dont think mars will ever be colonized.its smaller than earth and don’t think that it sustain life.
See no people have ever been on mars. they have found ice on mars with phoenix and other mars rovers. Its only ice that we know of - and how much contaminated it who knows..no liquid or fresh water.
I think mars doesn’t have sufficient magnetic field thus not presenting a shield against intense solar flares and solar winds plus gravitation theory you present seems another obstacle which doesn’t seems easy to crack.
Yes Weinstein sir…I agree . things doesnt seems easy as of now.
..crompty did you ever heard theory of creating an atomphere around there which support water flow…. ummm don’t know. I saw it on Discovery some times back.
…….find water ice comets and crash them into the Martian atmosphere to release the needed water! howz that idea. practcal. ?
…..watched that movie…”Total Recall”. It shows how people could live on Mars.
….my personal view is that we are 30 years behind where we should be in terms of space exploration.
I don’t think mars will ever be colonized as it wont be able to support human life. To live on Mars we will need to be inside suits or buildings that are airtight.
