Hub pages and Squidoo lens - How effective ?
Yesterday I have discussions with one of my friend regarding using squidoo and hubpages to get quality link backs to websites. We share some viewpoints on the value of these free platforms. Squidoo is indeed one of the best place to build links and writing some quality content. They are very easy to use and have some real potential. Moreover they allow you to freely advertise and comment on others squidoo lens which will give you a backlink as well.
Hubpages are very tricky place for marketers as they don’t allow advertising or more than 3 odd links. One must tread lightly in your advertising so you arn’t flagged straight away. They have strict rules with firm goal to be an authority site on relevant subjects so have tough game rules. My friend did receive some traffic from squidoo lenses but nothing major and frankly didn’t try the hubpages for some reason as his linking strategy didn’t got even with Hub pages…
Ofcourse both are great places for getting links back to your site but personally I also recommend Blogger, Wordpress, Craigslist, Backpages, Gather, Propeller, friendster etc that works equally well.

I perfer hubpages as they have better system in place to deter scammers.
Squidoos are the best. I prefer wikispaces over hubpages.
I go for blogs on social networking sites rather than these plateforms or wordpress.
Hubpages and live journal are very good platforms ..yes goldy is right to some extent that blogging in social networking sites let others easily found you.
