Some light on Google’s ranking criteria

In Google’s official blog one of their fellow Amit Singhal of their ranking team throw some light on their ranking system of how they find most relevant documents according to user query. Google use same ranking algorithms with some modifications - for other Google search services, including Images, News, YouTube, Maps, Product Search, Book Search, and more. google bot What they seem put stress on is best local relevant results to serve global audience and no manual interventions. Google doesn’t reject the policy of action against sites with legal issues, child porn, viruses/malware, etc and on others which are against its webmaster policies.
