Don’t know why I am blogging it but frankly whenever I view any of the pics related to solar system or Universe…. it gives a hope ..a glimpse of consciousness around at other places around this vast existence. It presents a vivid multimedia adventure unfolding the splendor of natural beauty and its thrilling diversity. Get familiar with some of the so called objects / planets of our solar system.

Details and exact paths are still open to fluctuation, there should be potential for damaging winds and heavy rain making travelling conditions dangerous. My fave thing is to be snuggled in a bed ……………..with howling wind and torrential rain lashing at my home in UC. Anyway its time to gather necessary weather kit and work on going towards safer place.

Huge Ice chunk breaks off in Arctic

So a chunk of ice spreading across seven square miles has broken off a Canadian ice shelf in the Arctic. See in the pic. below….. Lookat that….ice sheet is shown drifting after it separated from the Ward Hunt Ice Shelf off the north coast of Ellesmere Island in Canada’s far north on Sunday July 27, 2008. Its biggest piece shed by one of Canada’s six ice shelves since the Ayles shelf broke loose in 2005 from the coast of Ellesmere, about 500 miles from the North Pole. Formed by accumulating snow and freezing melt water, ice shelves are large platforms of thick, ancient sea ice that float on the ocean’s surface. Scientists do not blame it on global warming but that the current Arctic climate isn’t rebuilding ice sheets.

Phoenix Provides a Panorama of Mars

Combining more than 400 images taken during the first weeks after the Phoenix arrived on the Red planet’s arctic plain gave scientists this view of Mars. The full-circle panorama in approximately true color shows the polygonal patterning of ground at the landing area, similar to patterns in permafrost areas on Earth. The center of the image is the westward part of the scene. Trenches where Phoenix’s robotic arm has been exposing subsurface material are visible in the right half of the image. The spacecraft’s meteorology mast, topped by the telltale wind gauge, extends into the sky portion of the panorama. Read more on it at NASA Gallery

Zooming on Asteroids

Let me 1st tell yaa what there thing Asteroids are ! They are actually rocky and metallic objects that orbit the Sun but are too small to be considered planets also known as minor planets. Asteroids range in size from Ceres ( which, which has a diameter of about 1000 km, down to the size of pebbles. . Most of them are contained within a main belt that exists between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. According to theory ( I agree with it as well ) there was some planet in the making earlier between Mars and Jupiter’s but coz of some gravitational tussle between Jupiter and Saturn it got broken into parts and those pieces are revolving SUN in highly irregular orbits. Some have orbits that cross Earth’s path and some have even hit the Earth in times past. I can’t predict or comment on future but you definitely wanna want to see some of these earlier hit pics.

Just surfing across some of the cool websites related to space around this morning to think of collecting some interesting facts there.

1. Any free-moving liquid in outer space will form itself into a sphere, because of its surface tension.2. The odds of being killed by space debris - 1 in 5 billion. 3. The density of Saturn is so low that if you were to put it in a giant glass of water it would float. The actual density of Saturn is 0.687 g/cm³ while the density of water is 0.998 g/cm³. 4. Our Galaxy - the Milky Way is spinning at a rate of 225 kilometers per second. In addition, the galaxy is travelling through space at the rate of 305 kilometers per second. This means that we are traveling at a total speed of 530 kilometers (330 miles) per second. That means that in one minute you are about 19 thousand kilometers away from where you were. 5. Every year the moon moves about 3.8cm further away from the Earth. This is caused by tidal effects. Consequently, the earth is slowing in rotation by about 0.002 seconds per day per century. 6. The Earth’s revolution time increases .0001 seconds annually. 7. The energy in the sunlight we see today started out in the core of the Sun 30,000 years ago - it spent most of this time passing through the dense atoms that make the sun and just 8 minutes to reach us once it had left the Sun! 8. If you shouted in space even if someone was right next to you they wouldn’t be able to hear you. 9. Two pieces of metal without any coating on them will form in to one piece in the vacuum of space. This doesn’t happen on earth because the atmosphere puts a layer of oxidized material between the surfaces. This might seem like it would be a big problem on the space station but as most tools used there have come from earth, they are already coated with material.

Mercury is the second smallest planet in our Solar System after pluto. It’s a dry, rocky and barren world with extreme temperatures.Its surface is marked with craters heavily just like moon. As its closest to the Sun, so it has the fastest orbit, taking just 88 days to complete on revolution around the Giant star. Despite its such fast orbit, surprising Mercury moves very slowly on its axis, taking 59 days to make one full revolution ( giants as Jupiter take under 10 hours !! ) This means that two thirds of the way through its orbit, Mercury has only completed one revolution on its axis. This effect, combined with Mercury’s very thin atmosphere, produces dramatic temperature ranges on its surface. Here are some of its figures :-

My visit to Golden temple ..

Fast forward pening of last 24 hours…..

Not sure from where to start with…….Let me begin from the end. Back home from Hari-mandir sahib at around half past 1 : 00 pm..and get up after a 5 hours sleep at 7 : 30 pm. I am feeling little cold and there is light pain in my feet coz of that marble floor…..

I am missing the touch of my wife…..to get close to someone..no surprise - same old dumb Simi I am talking about…. and big kiss…..and care….these ideas are coming in my mind……I too am confused.. to finally switch on pc ( start with as usual googling some terms - official work and others….to find something for …………cheer about - yeah temporary ) and photoshoped some of the pictures ( Auto level adjustments ) I took during the trip and start uploading them to my flickr account. Its just that I never care to do any adjustments while taking pictures…( well normally I never do … ) ..no night mode, quality criteria, best pics…etc…moreover rain and light foggy day too ruin their quality…So ok here the brief summary of how journey went on….

I catch Sachkhand Express at around 7 : 10 pm ( after missing Amrapali and one more…coz of mummy and traffic issues…) finally reach there at some 9:20 pm and to Harimandir sahib at 10:10 pm. Take a round of the holy nector pool, went to langar hall and have heavy dinner……then sit near AMRIT SAROVAR for 4 hours too…….yep did sleep for only an hour at night..

Highlight of the Visit was when I was about to get inside holy temple to bow to Guru Granth Sahib…Frankly admitting its my 2nd visit to Golden Temple / Harimandir Sahib in the last 11 years ( yeah a 2nd one in last 35 days…). Last time I miss him coz . Guru Granth Sahib ( as Guru ….) routinely not remain inside from 11:00 pm to 4:30 am), which mean its my 1st visit to him during the Era of my life which turns me from just another graduate to a Guy with great universal attitude and scientific approach.

After a long wait for some 2 hours and 45 some minutes standing in the queue in that huge rush of devotees , totally watered from head to feet..my sony k790i, watch , money all got wet..with rain was at its fullest. OMG !! finally I reach inside and pay my obedience and myself to him…as history did repeat itself after 10 years….something coming true….earlier its dreaming and now feeling the gateway… OMG I can’t believe how big and powerful SIR is……I can’t explain as I am not feeling it..its just I know on paper…something which really makes me cry like a kid. Yes coz he knows this idiot creature……this little human on this one of the planet in a place called ludhiana is not that bad…….I know him…..Its just a great feeling.

So later in the morning we did some shopping as Mummy want to have some eatables, CDs, books and other holy things from shops around. We finally reach the railway station at 9: 35 am again missing 2 trains… Paschim Express and Amritsar - Dadar to finally catch Deluxe around 10 : 15 am. Its the hardest and sweetest time I ever had…..

It makes one part of my life for sure…

Dreaming and thinking high

Well its today I was bit more dreamy and thinking about technicalities of this gravity and motion..well there is nothing concrete but only theories as of now..(its good to forget either case…..if its not about universal center). I was just thinking about myself as some kinda adventurous tourist or …but got a psycological push towards some imaginery female character (don’t know why..may be its just a male mindset or ….. whatever ) who I think is better than me…..as far as attitude is concerned now and in future as well…

Well this post is more like a dream of a good-bad fanatical story… but still I wanna want to pen it and here I did..

Just couple of minutes ago I was looking at collection of space wallpapers and few lines from our class VI english poem comes in my mind ….it goes…

Ooh look at the moon,

It looks like a lamp in the air,

….which just give me a push to write something about space…aka moon stuff as its the closest heavenly body which reminds of what the heck around is.

From 1969 to 1972 there’s been lot of moon landings to look for some alternative destination or curiosity or to get step ahead of competitor whatever….

Moon actually have very thin atmosphere.

FINALLY : APPOLO 11

You know its just twenty seconds worth of fuel remained when Apollo 11’s lunar module landed on the moon.

Ok still my findings point towards some of its other sides. No real reason to talk about but its just that I have work on ..so ..yeah its gravity affection is a … truth and how much they have an impact with the compound functioning of other planets.. Moon - Sun relation is a common say…Anyway forget that..

Whatever it is ..I frankly love yaa look. Its beauty and structure reminds me of harsh reality of life and for sure force to look for some good alternative to begin life with ..doesn’t matter if its any collective effort or kinda myself and SIR..

Anyway I wanna going for a dinner ….Its enough for today I think.
